Tea Story

This single origin long leaf black tea from the revered region of Assam, India has a full, malty flavour. The tea has and abundance of golden tips that add to the complexity of the brew. Produced using orthodox methods, the tea is of prime quality and can be recommended for seasoned black tea lovers. The infusion delivers a classic black tea flavour that is perfect to enjoy in the morning, as it is or with a dash of milk or lemon.

The tea hails from the award-winning Meleng Tea Estate in Assam. The estate, which was founded in the 1850s, produces premium quality orthodox teas that impart the famous malty and brisk Assam black tea flavour.

Brewing Guidance: 200ml of water per 3-4g of tea | Boil water to 100℃ | Steep for 4-5 minutes.

Flavour: The tea imparts a classic black tea flavour with subtle malty notes.

Aroma: The leaf has a sweet, honey-like aroma with subtle floral and toasty hints.

Colour: Produces a light amber liquor.

Region: Assam, India.

More about the Meleng Tea Estate: It is located near the town of Jorhat, close to the world heritage site, the Gibbon Wild Life Sanctuary. The estate has been rewarded with several awards for its quality teas by the Tea Board of India. The estate has several initiatives in place to protect its workers. It provides free housing, fuel and water to employees as well as subsidised foods and education. It also provides protective clothing as well as free medical care for workers and their dependants.
