Not just for coffee
This durable, ultra-light, heat-resistant French Press for Tea will keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer. Made in Germany from tough borosilicate glass, its double-walled construction keeps the outside at a comfortable temperature while allowing you to keep an eye on the brewing strength.
With its sleek, functional design, the French Press helps you effortlessly prep the perfect cuppa. First, enjoy the hypnotic display of the leaves brewing freely. Then, once the tea has reached the desired infusion time, simply press the handle down to gently push the leaves to the bottom of the glass. The very fine stainless-steel mesh filter ensures that not even the smallest leaves can escape, leaving you with a crystalline cup of your favourite brew.
How to use and care for your French PressClose
Using the french press
Smart, compact and easy to use, the French Press for Tea makes two cups. Use it for hot and cold loose-leaf teas as well as coffee. Before pouring, just ensure the opening on the insert under the lid lines up with the spout.
Caring for borosilicate glass
Borosilicate glass is made mainly of silica (70-80%) and boric oxide (7-13%), with smaller amounts of alkalis (sodium and potassium oxides) and aluminium oxide. Used in cookware and chemistry labs, it’s renowned for its resistance to thermal shock. However, as a glass product, a certain amount of care still needs to be taken:
• If the ambient temperature in your kitchen is low, warming up your French Press before use will help it last longer. The glass is less likely to break or shatter if you warm it up gradually; this will also help the tea to steep more effectively as the water won’t lose heat when poured into the teapot.
• Once you have poured in the hot water, avoid resting the French Press on cold surfaces. Rest it on a trivet or kitchen towel instead.
• To clean your French Press, we advise rinsing with hot water and avoiding the dishwasher. Clean gently with a soft sponge.
