This patterned porcelain Gaiwan is ideal for steeping and drinking tea in a traditional Chinese method. Gaiwans are the preferred method of brewing for oolong, green and white teas.

Place the required amount of tea in the cup of the gaiwan, after rinsing the cup with warm water. Add water at the correct temperature to the cup. When the tea is ready, pick the cup with the saucer and position the lid slightly askew just enough to allow the tea to pour out while retaining the leaves. Can be used for re-steeping 2-3 times.

Capacity: 220ml
Dimensions: Height 10m x Diameter 10.5cm

For the price this is a really excellent gaiwan - it's a good size and feels well balanced in the hand for pouring.

Large Gaiwan,

Large enough for a few genteel bowls of tea with friends, or a large, greedy mug full on your own.
Excellent value, and well made.

It was only by chance that I found the tiny blue writing at the top of the page offering help in case of difficulties filling in the form.
i think that you are probably missing out on reviews due to this fault.

a very pretty gaiwan. I haven't mastered pouring it yet as it's rather large, but I foresee this set will get a lot of use.
