Tea Story

Meng Ding Gan Lu (Sweet Dew) has been rated as one of the finest teas in China for its  delicate floral notes, subtle yet complex flavours with fruity sweet finish.

History / Origin

Meng Ding Gan Lu originates from Meng Ding Shan, Sichuan Province in China and has a wealth of history dating back to the Tang Dynasty.

Over 2000 years ago, this tea was first cultivated at the Taoist temple and was continued to be imperially appointed through later dynasties such as the Song dynasty Emperor Xiaozong.

Picking Season

The picking season and time of harvest is during early spring in March, where the buds are picked early in the morning and skillfully scented with orchid flower.  The Chan family has been making this tea for generations and his tea making skills are a true reflection of this tea; from selecting and picking the tender snowy buds to gently rolling the leaves and are all done by hand, to create this artisan tea.

The location is the perfect climate for growing this tea because it is mistier, with lesser sun, and thanks to the high altitude it remains cooler which allows the buds to grow steadily.

Altitude: 800-1,000m.

Fermentation: 0-1%.

Time of Harvest: Spring Harvest - March 2020.

Year of Harvest: 2020.

Processing: Handpicked and hand processed. Scented with natural orchid flower.
