Tea Story

The teas grown in the Bogawantalawa area are world-renowned, made using state-of-the-art processing facilities. All teas produced here have bright liquor and good strength and pungency without over an overpowering astringency.

Bogawantalawa is a valley area in the Central Province of Sri Lanka that is known locally as the ‘Golden Valley’. The rich minerals are perfect for growing tea, and it is also home for some of the most famous precious stones such as emerald and sapphire.

This area has grown tea for over 140 years, since the ever early days of Ceylon’s tea industry. Due to its situation at 1400 - 1850m meters about sea level and the low temperatures, the tea bushes thrive.

Ingredients: Ceylon black tea

Decent leaves with little grit

Sometimes tea leaves can be too brittle or dusty and fall through filters but the breakfast tea was perfect. I received a free sample packet of their earl grey too which is a nice balanced botanical drop.
