A trio of our premium Matcha powders; the perfect gift for long-time matcha lovers or those looking to start out with this trendy tea.
Featuring;
Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder
This Great Taste award-winning Matcha imparts a smooth and deep flavour with subtle hints of sweetness and no bitterness. Our Matcha powder is grown in Ise Bay, Japan, a historic tea-region on the southern coast of Japan.
This exceptionally high-grade tea offers a rich, creamy umami flavour, and none of the bitterness associated with store-bought matcha.
Ceremonial Grade Kuro Matcha Powder
A unique matcha powder made from premium gyokuro leaves and processed as a Black tea. This creates a truly stand-out matcha powder, with a dark, velvety appearance, and notes of toasted cacao and a caramel aftertaste. Ideal for anyone trying to make the switch from coffee to matcha.
Imperial Grade Matcha Powder
Our highest quality matcha powder; grown on a family-owned farm using the renowned Okumidori cultivar. The leaves used are carefully grown in the shades for three weeks before being hand-picked in the early spring, resulting in a refined and elevated flavour due to the high chlorophyll content.
A bold, creamy matcha powder with umami-rich flavour, packed with antioxidants.
What are the Health Benefits of Matcha?
Part of the reason that matcha has become so popular recently is that it is full of health benefits!
Matcha is bursting with antioxidants, which are useful for combatting inflammation and may even help decrease the chance of getting cancer.
Studies have shown potential benefits from drinking matcha on heart health and the cardiovascular system, as well as an aid to weight loss and gut health.
Matcha also contains L-Theanine, a chemical that has been associated with increased calmness and improved sleep quality, which can help to mitigate some of the less desirable side effects of caffeine.
How Do You Make Matcha?
1. Add ½ Tsp of Matcha Powder
2. Heat the Water to 60 - 70°C
3. Add a small amount of the hot water - enough to create a thin paste, a bit like an espresso shot
5. Whisk the matcha and water together, using a bamboo whisk or electric whisk. Start slowly to mix the powder with the water, then increase your speed while using a W motion to create froth.
6. Fill up with the hot water or milk if making a latte
7. Enjoy!
We have a selection of Matcha Essentials to help you make the perfect cup every time. From traditional bamboo whisks to stylish matcha bowls, it’s a sure way to enjoy matcha the authentic way.
