The origins of our flowering tea bulbs collection
A combination of premium green tea leaves and beautiful flower buds, our flowering tea bulbs collection is one with a wow factor the perfect gift for a loved one, for impressing dinner guests, or even for treating yourself.
Our flowering teas, also known as blooming teas, are artisanally made in China by combining the highest grade of green tea with wonderfully delicate dried flowers. Each tea bulb consists of a bundle of dried tea leaves, meticulously hand-tied around one or more dried flowers to produce a delicately aromatic, flavourful cup of tea. To brew, you simply fill a glass teapot with hot water and drop in a single bulb. When steeped, the bundle expands and unfurls in a process that emulates a blooming flower, while the flowers inside emerge as the centrepiece. The result is a delightful pale golden orange infusion with a fresh, floral aroma and delicate, sweet flavour with hints of tropical fruit.

What makes a good blooming tea?
Blooms commonly used in flowering teas include chrysanthemum, jasmine, lily, hibiscus, marigold, rosebuds and osmanthus. Flowering tea is generally served in teapots or cups made of glass so that the flowering effect can be enjoyed to its maximum. Feel free to re-steep your flowering tea bulbs as the bundles can usually be reused two or three times without the tea becoming bitter.
What are the health benefits of flowering teas?
Our flowering tea bulbs collection is based on a luxury loose-leaf green tea which has a range of potential health benefits. These are largely due to green teas high level of flavonoids called catechins, which studies have shown may be linked to good cardiovascular function, weight management and even cancer prevention. Because of their minimal processing, green teas are also higher in other antioxidants such as carotenoids and ascorbic acid (vitamin c) than other teas.
