I have the flowering tea bulbs and glass mug gift set but I don't understand what the extra internal glass is for: Thanks for your question. The internal glass is the infuser part of the glass mug. You will put the required amount of loose leaf tea in the cup with the infuser in, before pouring the hot water. You are able to remove this infuser (with the brewed tea) when brewing is finished. please let us know if you need any other information.
