Tea Story

Our natural Jasmine Green Tea is made from a mix of jasmine flowers and premium Chinese green tea. The jasmine green tea offers a well-balanced and refreshing brew with a wonderfully alluring floral aroma.

Jasmine tea is a Chinese speciality tea which is enjoyed all over the world!

Typically, the tea is green or white tea based, that has been naturally infused with jasmine buds and jasmine flower petals. The unique aroma and taste of jasmine beautifully compliments the grassy, vegetal and nutty notes of the delicate green and white teas.

The flavours of jasmine infused teas are usually subtly sweet, refreshing and intensely fragrant.

DID YOU KNOW? According to historical records, jasmine has been growing in the Fuzhou area since the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD).

At The Tea Makers of London, we work closely with some of the very best tea farmers and tea producers in the world. We regularly visit local tea fields and production facilities to ensure that the teas we provide, are of the outmost quality available. The Camellia Sinensis leaves and flowers, used to make our jasmine teas, grow high in the Fujian mountains.

Each premium tea in our Jasmine Tea range is sourced from the revered Fuzhou region of Fujian, China - which is the home of jasmine tea. In China, spring is the most important season of the year.

The Making of Jasmine Tea

This fine Chinese loose-leaf green tea has been delicately infused with natural jasmine flowers and mixed with whole jasmine buds. The infusion method - referred to by tea professionals as 'scenting'* - is an intricate process that requires many years of experience to perfect!

The tea leaves are carefully layered with newly bloomed jasmine flowers and are left to infuse for several hours. The essential oils of the jasmine flowers slowly seep into the tea leaves and allow for the natural flavours and aromas to absorb and mix. The jasmine green tea is then gently baked in an oven to remove moisture.

This process is repeated up to seven times to ensure that the tea leaves take on a strong fragrance.

Ticks all the boxes
Monday, 17 August 2020  |  Anthony

There are quite a few other Jasmine Green Teas around, but this one simply managed to tick all the right boxes for my tastebuds. Refreshing and with just enough presence of Jasmine to satisfy: not too much, not too little.
