The Tea Makers

Sharing Our Heritage

Our deeply rooted connections with soil, tea and people allow us to share the journey of each and every one of our loose-leaf teas.

The Tea Makers Way

At The Tea Makers of London, we like to think of tea as a golden thread that connects everyone along its journey: farmer, shipper, packer, owner, customer. It’s what links you, leaning against your kitchen counter in the morning, cup in hand, to the fertile tea-producing fields of Sri Lanka, where our founder, Sam Sameen, played hide and seek as a child.

Thanks to Sam’s more than 10 years’ experience of cultivating, nurturing and harvesting his own tea plantation, The Tea Makers of London understands the importance of provenance, sustainability and all the intricate processes that go into delivering a perfect caddy of tea from our online store to through your door.

Following that golden thread, we are committed to connecting with every farmer in our supply chain, as well as to the welfare of all the pickers, buyers and packers we rely on to bring you our speciality teas. It’s the same care that drove Sam from his early years of apprenticeship in the industry to sell the first packet of tea from his London kitchen table. It’s also what’s pushing us forward in our quest to become an ever more sustainable, carbon-neutral company.

We believe that brewing a high-quality loose-leaf tea should be one of the most enjoyable experiences there is. It’s a time to warm your hands, inhale the aromas and breathe your worries away. To help give you ease, we encourage you to read about our Ethical & Sustainable Sourcing as well as our Commitment to Quality.

If you have any questions, we are always keen to hear from our customers, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our Contact page. It’s just another part of that thread that ties us all together.
