Inspired by the British tradition of sharing a cuppa with loved ones — and drawing on our tea expertise — this single-origin blend is crafted to be enjoyed together and to encourage open conversations about mental health.

Our Tea Break Blend enjoys the malty and full-bodied flavour characteristic of Assam teas, with a light caramel flavour with a mildly bitter aftertaste and an astringent mouthfeel. This tea boasts a rich, reddish-brown infusion and a malty aroma with a subtle hint of raisin.

This hearty black tea blend is made from a mixture of FBOP leaves, which give this tea quality and complexity, and CTC tea leaves, which bring strength of flavour, thus creating a brew that can withstand the addition of milk and sugar without losing its essence, so whatever your preference, you'll find this to be a delicious tea. Packaged into our 100% biodegradable Triune Teabags and stored in one of our stylish caddies, this tea is the perfect addition to anyone's home.

The Mental Health benefits of a tea break

Our busy lives can feel intense and non-stop; it can be easy to be overwhelmed by daily stressors, which can leave you feeling burned out and low. It’s important to remember to take a break, take a breath and ground ourselves, and one of the best ways to do this is by taking a tea break.

Whether we’re dealing with stress at home or at the office, a tea break can be a chance to calm down and remove yourself from the stressful situation. It can be an opportunity to ground yourself, reflect on your emotional and mental state, which can in turn help you better understand yourself and your needs.

Tea breaks can also be a chance to have open conversations about mental health, turning everyday moments into meaningful discussions. Opening up and discussing mental health, either to share your own troubles or to lend an ear to a loved one who may be going through some challenging issues, may feel like a small act, but it is the best way forward in combating mental health more broadly, which is one of SANE's primary aims.

All of this can lead to a better understanding of ourselves, reduced risk of burnout, improved connections with others and more open discussions about mental health. All profits made from the sale of this tea go to SANE to support their work and the mental health services they provide.

Who are SANE

SANE is a charity set up to raise awareness of mental health issues, to improve front line services for individuals and carers and provide support through a range of services.

We have been a corporate partner of SANE for several years, creating custom blends, such as our previous SANE Herbal Blend, to support the vital work done by this charity to raise awareness of mental health issues, and raising awareness of their work on our social media platforms and our website.

All profits made from the sale of this tea go to SANE to support their work and the services they provide to individuals, carers and families.

Region

Assam Region, India

Assam, located in northeastern India, shares its northern boundary with the Himalayas and Bhutan, and borders Bangladesh to the south. Connected to West Bengal through the narrow Siliguri Corridor, Assam is a region marked by rich geography and abundant natural resources. The Brahmaputra River, originating in Tibet, flows across northern Assam, bringing vital runoff from the high peaks and feeding the valleys. Assam's humid subtropical climate is split between wet and dry seasons, with the wet season extending from April to October, resulting in the highest rainfall in India and often causing severe flooding.

Temperatures range from 11°C to 31°C throughout the year, with little wind. This heavy rainfall creates lush, fertile wetlands, which support a diverse ecosystem. The hillier districts, with elevations up to 600m, experience a temperate climate, providing a distinct environment for tea cultivation. The region’s forests consist of tropical evergreens, deciduous trees, bamboo, and ferns, with many wildlife sanctuaries protecting species such as tigers, leopards, and rhinos. Assam’s teas are known for their rich, malty notes, distinct from Darjeeling’s muscatel flavours.
