Ideal for brewing loose leaf tea
For a classically made cuppa, this beautiful borosilicate glass teapot is a clear winner. A fun, contemporary take on the traditional teapot, this mouth-blown teapot with infuser and coil filter has an 800ml capacity, for 2-3 cups. Delivered in a beautiful presentation box, it’s the perfect gift for tea aficionados.
Multi-functional, the Classic Glass Teapot is especially suited to brewing medium- or large-leaf teas. The removable glass infuser can be used for many types of loose-leaf tea, while the removable coil filter is suitable for flowering teas, fruit infusions or large-leaf teas such as Organic Dragon Well. We don’t recommend using it for very small-leaf teas such as Rooibos and Irish Breakfast, as fine leaves can escape. A silicone ring around the lid holds it nice and firm while pouring.*

Why choose glassware for making tea?
Culinary and lab grade borosilicate glass offers high resistance to thermal shock, making the Classic Glass Teapot perfect for enjoying a variety of speciality teas. Being able to see the tea as it brews is the great advantage of using glassware. By assessing the colour of the infusion as it steeps, you'll be able to brew it to the exact strength that meets your individual preference.
Caring for your teapot
Borosilicate glass is made mainly of silica (70-80%) and boric oxide (7-13%), with smaller amounts of alkalis (sodium and potassium oxides) and aluminium oxide. Used in cookware and chemistry labs, it’s renowned for its resistance to thermal shock. However, as a glass product, a certain amount of care still needs to be taken:
• If the ambient temperature in your kitchen is low, warming up your Classic Glass Teapot before use will help it last longer. The glass is less likely to break or shatter if you warm it up gradually; this will also help the tea to steep more effectively as the water won’t lose heat when poured into the teapot.
• Once you have poured in the hot water, avoid resting the teapot on cold surfaces. Rest it on a trivet or kitchen towel instead.
• To clean your Classic Glass Teapot, we advise rinsing with hot water and cleaning gently with a soft sponge. You can also place it on the top shelf of your dishwasher.
*Please ensure the lid is firmly secured before pouring.
