What is matcha tea powder?
Matcha is a shade-grown green tea powder, stone-ground into a vibrant powder. Unlike traditional loose-leaf teas, you consume the entire leaf, resulting in a richer flavour profile and a naturally higher concentration of antioxidants.
Our range highlights the diversity of Japanese matcha tea, from smooth and delicate ceremonials to versatile matcha ideal for modern recipes.

How to Prepare Matcha (Step by Step)
Preparing matcha properly makes a noticeable difference to flavour and texture. Follow these simple steps for traditional matcha green tea powder:
-
Sift the matcha. Add 1 to 2 bamboo spoonfuls of matcha powder to your bowl and sift to remove clumps.
- Pour in water at around 60 - 70°C (80°C for Kuro Matcha). Boiling water will make matcha taste bitter.
- Whisk correctly. Using a bamboo whisk, whisk briskly in a W or M motion until a fine, even foam forms on the surface.
- Adjust to taste. Drink as is or add warm milk for a smooth matcha latte.
